Hyderabad: Several students who appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main on Tuesday found the Mathematics section a tough nut to crack. They said the question paper was tough on the difficulty levels in comparison with the test held in the February session this year.
“I found the Mathematics section tough compared to Physics and Chemistry. There were more integration sums in Mathematics. Physics and Chemistry were easy. In comparison with the February session, I felt this session was tougher,” Kruthik Reddy, an aspirant who appeared for the test in the city said, while Divya, another aspirant who took the test, echoed similar views.
“Questions in the Mathematics section were hard, lengthy and consumed a lot of time. I found Physics okay and Chemistry easier,” she said.
Coaching experts too found the Mathematics questions tough.
“Some of questions were of JEE Advanced level. Every time, about seven to 10 questions used to be directly from the NCERT books, but this time they were missing. In Physics and Chemistry, 70 per cent questions were easy and 30 per cent were moderate,” said Krishna Chaitanya Kasula, director, Nano Academy which trains students for JEE.
This year, the central government decided to hold the entrance tests in four sessions i.e. February, March, April and May. The entrance tests will be held till Thursday and from April 27 to 30, and May 24 to 28. Earlier, it was conducted from February 24 to 26.
