Students of Delhi Public School celebrate World Sparrow Day

Pre-primary and junior school students of Delhi Public School, Mahendra Hills celebrated World Sparrow Day by taking the pledge to feed birds every day, making bird origami, sparrow tattoos, bird’s house with the feeder to raise awareness about sparrows and other common birds affected by global warming.
The pre-primary wing conducted a special assembly intending to teach the tiny toddlers that we must protect the common house sparrows, which are not commonly seen nowadays due to increasing noise pollution. The message was given with the help of dance, song, action rhymes and topic talk.
Principal Dr Sunitha Rao while addressing the children said that every bird and animal in the ecosystem has an important role to help sustain it. Save the birds to save the biodiversity. Earlier, mostly we used to wake up by the melodious chirping of sparrows but these common house sparrows are on the verge of extinction today, we must protect them, students vowed at the assembly.
