Students seek MTech Transportation Engineering programme restoration at JNTU-Hyderabad
Civil Engineering students have appealed to Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla to restore the MTech Transportation Engineering programme at JNTU-Hyderabad and include it in the second phase of TG PGECET 2026 counselling, citing temporary faculty shortages
Hyderabad: Civil Engineering department students urged Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, who is also JNTU-Hyderabad Chancellor, to restore MTech Transportation Engineering programme at the JNTU-Hyderabad College of Engineering, Science and Technology, and include it in TG PGECET 2026 second phase counselling.
In a representation submitted at Lok Bhavan, students requested the Governor for his intervention to protect the programme offered by the JNTU-Hyderabad.
Highlighting that MTech Transportation Engineering programme was reportedly discontinued due to shortage of regular faculty, students said faculty shortage was a temporary issue and should not result in discontinuation of a highly demanded programme. “The university may consider engaging qualified guest, contract or adjunct faculty until regular recruitment is completed or decrease the seat intake,” the representation read.
