Suryapet: District Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy on Wednesday said it was targeted to plant 86.7 lakh saplings in Suryapet district under the seventh phase of Telangana Ku Haritha Haram (TKHH).
Reviewing the arrangements for the seventh phase of Haritha Haram with the officials at a meeting held in the district Collectorate, Vinay Krishna Reddy said that all the departments should work with a plan for achieving the target set to them under the seventh phase of Haritha Haram. He warned that action would be taken against the officials, who would show negligence on the implementation of Haritha Haram. He underlined the need to make the people and elected representatives part in the mass plantation programme.
He said that out of the targeted planting of 86.7 lakh saplings, 71.70 lakh saplings should be planted in rural areas and 15 lakhs in the urban areas in the district. The officials of different departments should work in coordination to make success the seventh phase of Haritha Haram in the district, he added. There is a chance for filed level inspections by the Chief Minister and higher officials, he said.
He made it clear that Mandal Parishad Officer and Mandal Panchayat Officers must attend Grama Sabha forthwith without fail. The development works taken up at the village should be explained to the people by the officials at grama sabhas.
Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Prem Karan Reddy, District Forest Officer Mukunda Reddy, District Panchayat Officer Yadaiah have also attended the meeting.
