Suryapet: Suryapet municipal chairperson Perumalla Annapurnamma on Thursday urged the people to cooperate with the medical staff who visit their houses for a door-to-door fever survey in the town.
Inspecting the fever survey in 28th ward in the town, Annapurnamma said the State government took up the fever survey as part of the measures to control spread of COVID-19. In addition to medical staff, employees of MEPMA, Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) and Anganwadi workers have been drafted for the survey. They will check the temperature and oxygen levels of family members of all households in the town,” she said.
Stating that the survey will help in identifying suspected cases of COVID-19, she said infrared thermometer, pulse oxymeters and sanitizers were provided to the staff to carry out the fever survey.
She said patients with mild symptoms can isolate themselves in their houses and overcome the disease by using medicines being extended by the health department.
“People should immediately start using the medicines in the kits supplied by the Health department if they have Covid symptoms, and not wait for the test results,” she said.
Suryapet municipal commissioner Ramanjaneyulu and officials of the health department were also present.
