Suryapet: Motakatla Rishivardhan Reddy (21), a youth from Suryapet, died when he accidentally fell into the sea from the ship in which he was working in Malaysia on Monday. He was working in a private shipping company there.
Rishivardhan, son of Venkataramana Reddy and Madhavi, natives of Suryapet town, went to Malaysia in February to take up the job. Malaysian government officials informed the parent’s about his death over phone on Wednesday morning.
Speaking to the media, Venakataramana Reddy said his son spoke to him last week and told him that he was planning to change his job because he was facing pressure from the management of the company. Rishivardhan got a job in a Malaysian shipping company through Kerala-based Madrine Marine Consultancy for which he paid Rs 5.8 lakhs. He alleged that the job consultancy had cheated his son after collecting the money. The consultancy had promised a good job in a shipping company in Malaysia, but posted him in a lower grade job, he added.
He requested the State government to take measures to bring his son’s body to Suryapet.
