Suspended Congress MLC Teenmar Mallanna meeting BRS working president K T Rama Rao, and MLA T Harish Rao, on the Assembly premises in Hyderabad on Monday.
Hyderabad: In a significant political development, suspended Congress MLC Chintapandu Naveen alias Teenmar Mallanna met BRS working president KT Rama Rao and former Minister T Harish Rao in the BRS legislative party office during the ongoing Assembly sessions on Monday.
The meeting, reportedly centered on the BC Reservation Bill, has triggered widespread speculation in political circles.
The Congress disciplinary committee had suspended Mallanna after he publicly criticised the BC census and burned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s statement on the same during a live broadcast.
He later accused Revanth Reddy of conspiring against BCs and vowed to fight for their rights.
Mallanna urged the BRS leaders to take up the issue in the Assembly. Along with other BC leaders, he submitted a memorandum to the BRS leaders seeking support for their cause.
His meeting with BRS leaders has fueled speculation about his next political move. He is reportedly planning a protest in New Delhi, demanding constitutional protection for the BC Reservation Bills.
Reports suggest he is seeking BRS’s support for this movement, but Rama Rao and Harish Rao have not yet made their stance clear.
Interestingly, Mallanna was a vocal critic of BRS when it was in power, frequently targeting former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Rama Rao, and other BRS leaders.
However, with BRS now in the opposition, his meeting with its top leadership has led to speculations about a possible political realignment.
