Telangana farmers, especially maize growers, are once again struggling to obtain urea, forming long queues at the Palakurthy Rythu Seva Centre from early morning. Officials previously restricted distribution to one bag per farmer during the August-September shortage.
Tension prevailed in Mahabubabad as two women farmers fought in a queue for urea tokens, highlighting the acute fertiliser shortage. Farmers alleged irregular distribution at Agros centres and staged protests, while a video of the clash went viral on social media
The farmers were seen placing photocopies of the passbooks and Aadhar cards in the queue in front of the PACS in these villages to get 'jeeluga' and 'janumu' green manure seeds.
Standing in the queue was not all. As the farmers managed to reach the counter at the Agros Rythu Seva Kendra, the staff told them that stocks were over.
