Hyderabad: The struggle for urea has returned for farmers in many parts of the State, with maize growers forced to stand in serpentine queues at the Agros Rythu Seva Centre in Palakurthy mandal headquarters in Jangaon district from early Tuesday morning.
Several farmers, including women, have been waiting at the centre since 5 am to secure urea bags.
During the August-September season, farmers across the State had faced severe hardship in obtaining urea and, due to the shortage, the Government had instructed officials to issue only one bag to each farmer.
Despite repeated complaints from farmers and criticism from various quarters, the State government is once again subjecting farmers to similar inconvenience, they lamented.
