Thirty-six athletes from Visakhapatnam district have been selected to represent Andhra Pradesh at the 36th South Zone Junior National Athletics Championships in Puducherry on September 16. Athletics officials congratulated the selected athletes and wished them success at the championships
Visakhapatnam emerged overall champions at the 37th AP State Junior Inter-District Athletics Championships in Tirupati with 231 points. Vizag athletes won both boys’ and girls’ team titles, while selected performers will represent Andhra Pradesh at the South Zone National Championships
Following the selection of Jyothi Yarraji and M Venkataram Reddy for the Asian Games, athletics officials have renewed their demand for a synthetic track in Visakhapatnam, saying it will help nurture talent, improve training facilities and enable the city to host national competitions
