Telangana NRI devotees conducted the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Kalyanotsavam in Oman, marking the first Gulf celebration of Vemulawada Rajanna’s celestial wedding. The event at Sri Krishna Mandir, Muscat, was attended by Indian Ambassador G V Srinivas.
The Telugu diaspora in the Gulf, especially in Muscat, celebrated Karthika Masam with devotional fervour. The largest gathering took place in Muscat with over 3,000 devotees participating in Vana Bhojanam and Sahasra Lingarchana, led by priests and attended by Indian officials
Due to Islamic beliefs, the Arabian Gulf is known for being a relatively conservative region yet other religious festivals including Christmas are being celebrated.
