Over 700 motorists were caught driving under the influence of alcohol during a special weekend enforcement drive by Hyderabad and Cyberabad Traffic Police. The offenders, including two-wheeler, three-wheeler and four-wheeler drivers, were booked based on their Blood Alcohol Concentration levels.
The Cyberabad traffic police have intensified their drunk driving checks in Hyderabad. Last weekend, 187 offenders were caught, with two sentenced to a two-day jail term, 23 fined and assigned social service, and 162 fined.
The Malkajgiri Traffic Police in Hyderabad conducted a special weekend drive against drunk driving, catching 321 offenders, most of them two-wheeler riders. Offenders were categorised based on their Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC), with some recording dangerously high levels.
