Two jailed, hundreds fined in Cyberabad drunken driving drive
The Cyberabad traffic police have intensified their drunk driving checks in Hyderabad. Last weekend, 187 offenders were caught, with two sentenced to a two-day jail term, 23 fined and assigned social service, and 162 fined.
Hyderabad: Two persons caught by the Cyberabad traffic police last weekend were sentenced to two-day jail term, and a fine was also imposed on them; while 23 people were fined for drunk driving offence and asked to do social service as well, and another 162 were asked to pay a fine.
The Cyberabad police during drunken driving checking last weekend had caught a total of 187 persons and produced them before the court in the following week.
Meanwhile, the Cyberabad traffic police during drunk driving checking on Saturday caught 262 persons and booked cases against them. Among those caught were 205 two-wheeler riders, 5 three-wheelers, 50 four-wheelers and two heavy vehicles. Cases were booked against the drivers and all of them were to be produced before the court. Of those caught, 10 persons had BAC levels above 301 mg/100 ml.
