On Tuesday, Hasina called for the culprits to be identified and brought to justice, as reported by The Daily Star. Her statement, shared by her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy on his verified Facebook page, follows her resignation on August 5 after student protests that resulted in over 500 deaths.
A rally was taken out covering important junctions of the town. The participants demanded everyone to condemn the attacks against Hindus in Bangladesh.
These deaths follow former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's resignation and departure from the country on Monday, according to the Dhaka Tribune. Violence in Satkhira claimed at least 10 lives, while 11 others were killed in mob attacks in Comilla.
The decision to dissolve the parliament was taken following the president's discussions with chiefs of three staff of armed forces, leaders of different political parties, representatives of civil society and leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
