Villagers from Penchikalpet mandal in Kumram Bheem Asifabad district have accused a computer operator of collecting Rs 26 lakh in bribes for land titles and partitioning of assets on the Bhu Bharati portal. The accused is said to have cheated many more applicants and faced similar corruption charges earlier at Rebbena MRO’s office.

While discussing the Bhu Bharati (Record of Rights in Land) Bill, 2024, in the Legislative Council on Saturday, Kavitha expressed concerns that the bill would create confusion across the State, causing difficulties for people in resolving land-related issues. Defending the BRS government's initiative to introduce the Dharani portal for land registration, she emphasized that Dharani serves as a protective shield for farmers, effectively curbing land scams in the State.
