Kumram Bheem Asifabad: People from different villages alleged that a computer operator working with Penchikalpet mandal revenue officer collected Rs 26 lakh in the name of issuing land titles and partitioning of assets.
They lodged a complaint with Penchikalpet Sub-Inspector Anil seeking action against the operator recently.
According to the complaint, 30 residents from Yellur, Chedwai, Penchikalpet, Pothepalli and Lodpalli villages paid bribes anywhere between Rs 5,000 and 85,000 each to Peddinti Rakesh Goud for getting land titles and partition of their lands on Bhu Bharati portal.
A resident from Pothepalli claimed to have given Rs 3,50,000, while two others gave Rs 2,50,000 and an applicant Rs 1,50,000 to Rakesh.
The residents were moving from pillar to post for the last nine months, but their applications were not processed. The applicants approached police when they realized that they were duped by the operator. They urged the police official to take steps to take stern action against Rakesh and to ensure that they were refunded.
Rakesh was already sacked for indulging in forgery of MRO’s signature and duping several applicants under the guise of issuing land titles, correcting records and addressing different problems.
It was said there were many victims who were cheated by the operator, but it was not reported. Rakesh faced similar charges of corruption while working with Rebbena MRO’s office in the past.
