Dalit activists in Velur village protested against R&B officials for demolishing a platform meant for a B R Ambedkar statue. Activists rebuilt the platform amid police presence, asserting their constitutional rights

A parapet wall constructed on oneside of the Ambedkar Statue traffic island at Tank Bund became constroversial. Dalit organistions members demolished the wall, which they say is intended to curtail view of the statue.
