BRS leaders, voluntary organisation members placed under house arrest ahead of Revanth Reddy’s Nagarjunasagar visit

Several BRS leaders and members of voluntary organisations were placed under house arrest or taken into preventive custody in Suryapet ahead of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s visit to Nagarjunasagar. BRS members protested the arrests and raised slogans against the government.

Nalgonda: Ahead of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s visit to Nagarjunasagar on Monday, many Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders and other voluntary organisations members have been placed under house arrest.

Many BRS leaders in Suryapet and other places were taken into preventive custody by the police. The Tirumalagiri police took a few BRS leaders into custody and similarly, the Tripuraram police also took a few BRS and BJP leaders into custody.

In Suryapet, many BRS leaders in Tungaturthy mandal were placed under house arrest by the police. The Arvapally police took Jangareddygudem former ZPTC D Veeraprasad Yadav and other leaders into custody.

Apart from political party leaders, the police also arrested members of voluntary organisations. At Suryapet, Railway Sadhana Samithi convenor A Janaki Reddy was taken into custody. Protesting the illegal arrests, the members raised slogans against the Congress government.
