A man in burqa and a woman triggered panic at a private medical college in Karimnagar after entering female bathrooms and attempting theft. Attendants detained them and handed them over to police. Investigation into the unusual disguise is underway.
The incident came to light after a 2-minute-14-second video went viral on social media on Tuesday. The police are currently verifying the details of the incident. In the video, one of the men, who appears to be recording the couple, authoritatively asks the young woman to hand over her burqa and is seen threatening her.
The candidate visited a polling station in old city and asked atleast two women to lift their burqa to tally their faces with those in their identification cards.
According to the police, the accused was traced to the Konanakunte locality of Bengaluru with the assistance of both the police and fact-checking teams. This development was confirmed on Friday.
