MLC Chintapandu Naveen, popularly known as Teenmaar Mallanna, was placed under house arrest by Rachakonda Police on Saturday, with personnel deployed in large numbers around his residence in Peerzadiguda. The action coincided with the final rites of BC activist Sai Eshwar Chary, who died by self-immolation demanding 42 per cent reservations for Backward Classes.

The Medipally police registered a case against Naveen and others after receiving a complaint from one Lingamaiah alias Ashok Yadav.

The complaint, filed by Congress MLC Theenmar Mallanna, cites specific scenes in the movie and alleges that police officials are portrayed as corrupt

The teacher job aspirants had even prevented MLC-elect Chintapandu Naveen aka Teenmar Mallanna from entering the CM's house for some time.

Mallanna was declared elected late Friday night, leading Rakesh Reddy by over 14,000 second preference votes.

Counting of second preference votes, initiated on Thursday night, persisted into Friday.
