McGregor has not fought since breaking his leg in a bout against Dustin Poirier in July 2021. While he was slated to face Michael Chandler since early 2023, their fight, initially set for June 29 at UFC 303, was canceled after McGregor withdrew due to a toe injury
Organization President Dana White announced Thursday night on X that light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will face top-ranked challenger Jiri Prochazka in UFC 303.
The fight was intense and action-packed for as long as it lasted, but the third matchup between the two superstars absolutely didn't live up to the hype.
This was the second clash between the two as McGregor and Poirier had fought before back in 2014. At that time, McGregor had won the featherweight fight by first-round TKO at UFC 178.
Marking this momentous event, Sony Sports has also partnered with popular restaurant chain Social Offline to screen UFC 257, live at two of the popular venues, Khar Social in Mumbai & Indiranagar Social in Bangalore.
