Telangana has received widespread rainfall after weeks of deficit, reducing the state’s overall shortfall from 33 per cent to 10 per cent. However, 13 districts continue to face significant deficiency, with Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri recording the highest at 65 per cent.
Telangana’s annual Vanamahotsavam plantation drive has slowed down, with only 16.62 per cent of the target achieved more than a month after its launch. Deficient rainfall has raised concerns over sapling survival, even as plantation targets have been reduced year-on-year due to limited land availability.
