The conveyor belt was being restored from 13,630 metres to 16,730 metres inside the tunnel. Suggestions from experts were being taken to effectively take up the rescue operations.
Now, the R&B department is planning to construct an elevated corridor on the route to facilitate smooth flow of traffic. The elevated corridor is being proposed from Brahmanpally to Domalpenta covering about 42 km.
Armed with blowers, beaters and other equipment, the two teams comprising five members each, swung into action and controlled the fire from spreading further.
