A drop in temperatures and rising humidity levels have triggered an increase in seasonal ailments in Hyderabad, with hospitals reporting more cases of viral fevers and respiratory infections. Health authorities have issued advisories to prevent vector-borne and water-borne diseases.
The Telangana Director of Public Health has issued an advisory urging citizens to take precautions against seasonal flu as temperatures drop. The advisory warns that low temperatures can increase the spread of acute respiratory infections such as flu, which is highly contagious.
With rising cases of dengue and water-borne illnesses, the Telangana health department has advised weekly ‘Friday Dry Day’ efforts to eliminate stagnant water. Citizens are urged to take mosquito and hygiene precautions to prevent dengue, typhoid, viral fevers, and flu.
