A sudden spell of gusty winds and thunderstorms hit Hyderabad and Cyberabad on Sunday evening, leading to waterlogging on major roads and uprooting of trees in several localities including Quthbullapur, Kompally and Alwal.

A fire broke out at a house in Sanathnagar’s Raja Nagar area after a refrigerator reportedly exploded early Thursday. No injuries were reported. Fire and DRF teams rushed to the scene. Officials suspect a compressor blast triggered the fire.

The officials are yet to ascertain the exact reason that led to the fire in the building

The police and the DRF teams from GHMC launched a search operation on Wednesday in the lake and recovered the body.
