Telangana has allowed adult family members to attend Special Intensive Revision electoral roll hearings on behalf of voters and submit necessary documents. CEO C Sudharsan Reddy directed officials to accept such documents and resolve notices, while ensuring compliance with ECI rules.
Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy reviewed the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Kukatpally and directed Booth Level Officers to digitise enumeration forms immediately after collection. He also inspected uploads, interacted with voters and stressed transparency and speedy implementation
The Election Commission has launched the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls across 12 states and UTs, covering 51 crore voters, to remove duplicate and outdated entries and ensure cleaner voter lists ahead of upcoming elections.
The Supreme Court directed the Election Commission to accept Aadhaar as the 12th identity document in Bihar’s electoral roll revision. Clarifying it is not proof of citizenship, the court stressed that only genuine citizens should be allowed to vote
