Karimnagar: BRS celebrated the party’s victory against the State Discoms’ proposed power tariff hike across the erstwhile Karimnagar district on Wednesday.
Based on BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s call for Statewide celebrations, party leaders and activists celebrated the event. On the occasion, they performed palabhishekam to the flex posters of BRs president K Chandrashekhar Rao and Rama Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, they said the State government had planned to impose a Rs.18,500 crore burden on the public by increasing power bills. However, the BRS led by Rama Rao succeeded in preventing the government from doing it by participating in public hearings organized by the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC).
Peddapalli BRS president Korukanti Chander participated in celebrations held in Godavarikhani while former MLA Sunke Ravishankar took part in the event in Gangadhara of Choppadandi constituency.
In Karimnagar, town president Challa Harishankar, Ponnam Anil Kumar Goud and others participated in celebrations held at Telangana Chowk.
