External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will visit Sri Lanka as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Special Envoy to hold talks with top leaders. The visit comes amid India’s ongoing humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka following Cyclone Ditwah.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said the global economic and political pecking order has changed, with multiple centres of power emerging, making it impossible for any single country to dominate global affairs amid growing competition and interdependence.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Kuala Lumpur and appreciated discussions on bilateral ties, regional and global issues. The meeting came amid ongoing trade negotiations, with both sides reaffirming their strong strategic partnership.

EAM S. Jaishankar will meet US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in New York today amid tensions over tariffs, Russian oil imports, and the Trump administration’s USD 100,000 H-1B visa fee for new petitions. Trade talks are also underway.

EAM S. Jaishankar met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on the sidelines of the SCO Foreign Ministers' meeting, discussing India-China relations and conveying greetings from Indian leaders. He also emphasized the importance of mutual respect and long-term cooperation.

The US-India COMPACT, which stands for Catalysing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce and Technology, was launched in February when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited US President Donald Trump in Washington 

"We practice a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism and expect our partners to understand it, and we will never countenance perpetrators of evil being put at par with its victims," Jaishankar said to David Lammy, Foreign Secretary of the UK

He began by meeting France's new Foreign Minister, Jean-Noel Barro, highlighting the close strategic and diplomatic ties between the two countries. After the meeting, he posted on X, noting they had a "useful exchange of views on major regional issues."

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's remarks came as he along with his Maldivian counterpart Moosa Zameer attended the handing over ceremony of Addu Reclamation and Shore Protection Project and inauguration of the 4-lane Detour Link road project facilitated by the Government of India under the Line of Credit of EXIM Bank.

Addressing a gathering here, he characterized the ongoing general elections as a testament to confidence, emphasizing "Foreign Policy the India Way: From Diffidence to Confidence."

Jaishankar on Monday also met Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and valued his guidance for further development of India-Vietnam ties.

During his four-day official visit to Vietnam, which began on Sunday, Jaishankar addressed the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam on the topic of "India in the Indo-Pacific," where he made these remarks.

Jaishankar participated in the virtual launch of the ferry services, which were inaugurated today by Union Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal, at Nagapattinam.

On the fourth day of the meeting, which began on Friday, he participated in ministerial meetings of both the Quad (India, US, Japan, Australia) and IBSA (India, Brazil, South Africa) groups.
