Dr Vishal Akula has been elected president-elect of the Indian Psychiatric Society, Telangana State Branch, and will take office in 2027. A leading psychiatrist and mental health advocate, he is recognised for contributions to addiction medicine, psychiatric education and public awareness.
He spoke on indications and uses of Electroencephalogram, a diagnostic tool which studies different types of waves in the brain during normal and abnormal conditions.
