Languages with more speakers, like Hindi and English, may not die out, but they can overshadow regional languages, eroding the multicultural essence and creating a more homogeneous society

The Prime Minister highlighted that Tamil is one of the oldest languages in the world. He pointed out that, in 2019, Hindi was the third most spoken language in the world.

The learners, as always, were brimming with ideas: We need to respect our mother tongue, it is who we are.

Students attended the assembly in large numbers and were very excited to learn about the importance of the day
