Phoenix, 48, takes on the role of French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte in the film.

While fans are eagerly waiting for the sequel 'Joker: Folie a Deux', which also stars Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, director Todd Phillips has shared a new look at Joaquin from the upcoming feature.

The pictures are of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn and Joaquin Phoenix in full makeup as the film's titular villain Joker.
