Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar warned of protests if paddy procurement was not completed within two days. Alleging government negligence, he said unseasonal rains had damaged grain stocks and demanded procurement of soaked, sprouted and discoloured paddy without delay.

People elected the Congress party to rule the State for a period of five years. The BRS would also wish the Congress to continue in the power for five years and provide better facilities to the public

As part of the Statewide agitation, BRS leaders including MLAs, other public representatives and party workers staged dharnas across the district.

Kamalakar along with Mayor Y Sunil Rao on Monday examined arrangements for the jatara to be held at Rekurthy on the outskirts of Karimnagar town.
