A rain-triggered landslide blocked the Kedarnath trek route near Gaurikund, forcing authorities to suspend pilgrim movement and stop devotees at safe locations. Restoration work is under way, while NDRF and SDRF teams remain on alert for any emergency

The Kedarnath Yatra resumed on Sunday after being temporarily suspended due to heavy rainfall and an orange weather alert in Uttarakhand. Pilgrim movement was restored as conditions improved, while helicopter services remained suspended and authorities continued monitoring the situation

The Seva Samithi has been regularly doing the service for the last few years.

But with a rare combination of determination and devotion, a 19-year-old youngster from Jangaon in Telangana has cycled all the way from his hometown to Kedarnath.

Rudraprayag District Magistrate Mayur Dixit said, "Kedarnath Yatra has been closed till further orders till the heavy rains continue."
