More than 50 junior orthopaedic surgeons and senior consultants participated in the daylong event organized to share experiences and enhance knowledge on knee replacement surgeries.

"One of its goals is to prevent or delay the need for knee replacement," said co-author Trevor Birmingham from the Western University in Canada.

The ERAS procedure ensures patients do not have to stay in the ICU after surgery and can be shifted to a room within three hours after the surgery
