Hyderabad: SLG Hospitals conducts workshop on total knee replacement
More than 50 junior orthopaedic surgeons and senior consultants participated in the daylong event organized to share experiences and enhance knowledge on knee replacement surgeries.
Hyderabad: A state-level hands-on workshop on knee Arthroplasty or primary total knee replacement was conducted by city-based SLG Hospitals in collaboration with Telangana Orthopaedic Surgeons Association (TOSA) on Sunday.
More than 50 junior orthopaedic surgeons and senior consultants participated in the daylong event organized to share experiences and enhance knowledge on knee replacement surgeries, a press release said.
“The hands-on workshop with many practical models displayed was a great opportunity for junior orthopaedic surgeons. Experts with decades of experience shared their knowledge and many important facets of knee replacement surgery were discussed and debated,” Dr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, senior orthopaedic surgeon, SLG Hospitals and workshop coordinator, said.
Orthopaedic surgeons said that sedentary lifestyle is leading to an alarming rise in number of people suffering from osteoarthritis and other problems that lead to bone degeneration, which ultimately necessitates a procedure like knee replacement.
SLG Hospitals CMD, Dandu Siva Rama Raju, and ED, DVS Soma Raju, and other senior doctors from the hospitals and TOSA office bearers were present.
