To mark 117 years since the 1908 Musi River Floods, Forum for a Better Hyderabad is holding a memorial at Osmania General Hospital on September 25. The event honours lives lost and celebrates a tree that saved over 150 people
“We have been discussing this from day one - a memorial will be set up in Baisaran for the 26 innocent lives lost, as a lasting tribute and a reminder that they will never be forgotten,” the Chief Minister said
The decision on the memorial has been conveyed to the Congress, but it will take a few days to find an appropriate venue for building a memorial, say sources
During the programme, descendants of the martyrs were felicitated. The speakers urged the government to initiate measures for inlcuding the tales of artmed struggle and Bhudan movement in the text books.
