An X user claimed that WhatsApp exports user data every night for analysis and targeted advertising, turning users into products rather than customers.

About 1,358,000 of these accounts were proactively banned, before any reports from users, WhatsApp said in its monthly compliance report.

On Instagram, the company received 19,311 reports through the Indian grievance mechanism. "Of these, we provided tools for users to resolve their issues in 9,476 cases," it said.

In early April, the company plans to discontinue Facebook News, a dedicated news content tab, in the US and Australia.

"Now you can simply choose a date and skip to all messages sent from that date onwards," the company said.

In January, Facebook received 29,548 reports through the Indian grievance mechanism, and said that it provided tools for users to resolve their issues in 21,060 cases.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the new features are aimed at allowing users to refine their messages on the platform.

Users have long utilized this feature to simultaneously post Stories and Reels on both Facebook and Instagram.
