Food safety teams in Telangana found multiple violations during inspections at schools, hostels, mid-day meal kitchens, and eateries. Violations included lack of food licenses, synthetic colour use, expired pulses, and unsafe containers. Samples of dal and tamarind were sent for testing.
Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan, in a statement, said Soyam Kishtu, a man from hamlet under Dharmapuri village, was apprehended on charges of poisoning the water for the mid-day meal.
