Ahead of schools reopening on June 12, the Telangana Food Commission has directed institutions to inspect stored food supplies, clean kitchens and water facilities, and take preventive measures under PM Poshan and the National Food Security Act following past food poisoning incidents.
The Patna High Court flagged serious lapses after 189 children fell ill in Saharsa under the PM POSHAN scheme, noting alleged recovery of “small snakes” in meals and ordering a probe into sampling, testing and food safety procedures
As per the revised cost per child per day, for Bala Vatikas and primary schools, the cost is enhanced from Rs.5.45 to Rs.6.19. Similarly, price has been increased from Rs.8.17 per child per day to Rs.9.29 per child per day.
