BRS MLA says the Congress government cancelled Question Hour to avoid addressing issues such as farmers’ distress and financial mismanagement among others
Harish Rao pointed out that the BRS raised questions on three key issues - the mortgaging of public assets for loans, the drying up of Yasangi crops, and the failure to fulfill promises made to farmers, which were all dodged
BRS Legislative Party lodged a complaint to Speaker Gaddam Prasad against Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for making derogatory remarks about former Minister and senior MLA T Harish Rao during the Question Hour in the Assembly on Wednesday.
Former Minister T Harish Rao objected to Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy questioning Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy during the question hour. When Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresham inquired about the Pillaipally and Dharma Reddy canal works, the Irrigation Minister responded. Following this, the Roads and Buildings Minister criticized the BRS for neglecting irrigation projects in the former Nalgonda district. He also accused the BRS government of showing indifference towards the River Musi and its development.
Several opposition members raised slogans against the laws and demanded discussion on the farmers' protest while the Upper House of Parliament was taking up the Question Hour.
