The arrested were identified as Varanasi Subramanyam aka Srikanth alias Aman alias Vimal, a former Central Committee member, and his wife Vijayalaxmi alias Sridhara, a district committee member of CPI (Maoist)

The value of the seized seed was estimated at Rs 49 lakh.
