Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the Sriram Sagar Project Stage II will be named after the late Ramreddy Damodar Reddy, recognising his efforts in bringing Godavari water to Tungaturthy.

As per available information, the goons who were allegedly instigated by Koppula Veena Reddy, a Congress party leader and close aide of former minister Ramreddy Damodar Reddy.

Disheartened by the allocation of the ticket to the former minister, Patel Ramesh Reddy filed a nomination as an independent candidate.

Damodar Reddy clarified that none of the BRS leaders had approached him and said it was all a game plan of a few Congress leaders
