A 55-year-old farmer from Thadkapally village died of a heart attack at the Siddipet Collectorate after waiting all day for a compensation cheque related to land lost under the Ranganayaka Sagar canal project.
Irrigation officials led by Superintendent Engineer Ravinder and farmers examined the canal and promised to release water into the canal to protect standing crops. The SE also promised to enhance the water flow.
