Railway officials stated that these trains were designed to assist Ayyappa Swamy devotees traveling from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to the Sabarimala shrine. The special trains allow devotees to conveniently plan their journeys and visit important pilgrimage centers and temples along the way in Kerala.
Accordingly, Secunderabad – Kollam (07175) train will run on December 19 and 26 and Kollam – Secunderabad (07176) train will run on December 21 and 28.
To clear the rush of Sabarimala pilgrims, the South Central Railway (SCR) will run 28 additional Sabarimala special trains including six from the city.
To make the journey safer for the devotees going to Sabarimala in the special trains, the South Central Railway (SCR) officials have requested them to refrain from lighting camphor or performing rituals involving fire onboard trains.
