District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) secretary B Ramesh inspected the Central Jail in Sangareddy on Wednesday following the directions of the State Legal Services Authority and the District Judge, Sangareddy.
Rupla Naik along with relatives visited the Sangareddy Hospital after coming to know that Heerya Naik was rushed to the hospital following chest pain. He demanded the Chief Minister to release the farmers from jail immediately.
On Wednesday night, Naik reported chest pain at Sangareddy prison and was taken to a local government clinic. However, prison officials did not provide proper medical care or notify his family, allegedly trying to cover up the situation. After experiencing another suspected heart attack on Thursday morning, Naik was transported to Sangareddy Government Hospital in handcuffs and chains, in a police vehicle instead of an ambulance. His family, who were denied access to him at the hospital, condemned the treatment as inhumane.
According to officials, Veerya Nayak (45), a farmer from Lagacherla, was shifted to the government hospital in Sangareddy after he complained of chest pain
The farmers worried that the Congress government would put them in jail by filing multiple cases until they handed over lands. However, Rama Rao assured than that the BRS would help get bail by talking to expert lawyers.
