Adilabad district is witnessing repeated protests by soy farmers demanding unrestricted procurement. Officials said over 10,000 quintals of soybean have been procured so far, the highest in Telangana, while non-FAQ produce is being rejected as per Union government and NAFED norms
Farmers observed a day-long bandh across Bela mandal in Adilabad district on Monday, demanding immediate procurement of soybean by the government. Protesters blocked traffic briefly on the inter-State highway, while shops remained shut in solidarity. The bandh passed off peacefully after police intervention.
Soy farmers in Nirmal staged a rasta roko on the Nirmal–Bhainsa highway, protesting delays in soybean procurement. Traffic was disrupted before police intervened and moved the protesters to Kuntala police station. Farmers urged the government to expedite the purchase process
