The Telangana Forest Department is launching an afforestation drive in Eturnagaram to recover from the 2024 storm damage that uprooted 70,000 trees. Plans include grasslands, bamboo plantations and release of herbivores to restore wildlife and green cover.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mohan Chandra Pargaien said after the implementation of the drive, incidents of poaching had come down drastically
Accordingly, senior officials held a meeting with retired forest officials from other States and experts at the Forest Academy in Dhulapally on Monday.
