Dr. Raghu Ram, founding director of KIMS-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases, becomes the third South Asian surgeon to receive the prestigious honor, marking the highest recognition by ASA for international surgical colleagues.
Senior cancer surgeon and member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Hyderabad-based Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (BIACH&RC), Dr Chandrakanth Are, has been named as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Global Forum of Cancer Surgeons (GFCS).
Dr Raghu Ram is the director of KIMS-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases and founder-CEO of Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation. He is also the immediate past President of the Association of Surgeons of India.
Popularly known as Dr PVC Rao, he was the first surgeon from the Telugu speaking States to be elected as president of Association of Surgeons of India (ASI) in 1994.
