Former SIB chief T. Prabhakar Rao surrendered before the Jubilee Hills Police following Supreme Court directions in the alleged phone-tapping case. The SIT has begun questioning him and is expected to submit a progress report to the apex court by December 19.

The top court directed Rao to give an undertaking that he would return to India within three days of the receipt of his passport.

Appearing for Prabhakar Rao, senior advocate T Niranjan Reddy requested the court to grant an interim order restraining his arrest, stating that he is willing to return to India within a week if such protection is granted

Local court also directed Praneeth to appear before the SHO of Panjagutta police station on every Monday for a period of eight weeks

Says he will fully cooperate in the investigation and answer all queries in person as soon as his health improves

The Commissioner criticized claims and unconfirmed reports that were making rounds in multiple media outlets about issuing red corner notice to Prabhakar Rao.

T Prabhakar Rao has urged the parents to keep a constant vigil on the activities of their wards so as to prevent them from indulging in unlawful activities.
