Nikhat’s impressive run ended in the semifinal clash against Swastika Ghosh of Airport Authority of India, where she lost 5-11, 6-11, 7-11, 8-11. Earlier in the quarterfinals, she defeated Poymantee Baisya of West Bengal 5-11, 13-11, 7-11, 11-7, 11-9.
Having confirmed the bronze medal after his quarterfinal victory over compatriot Jeeth Chandra, the State player faced Kirill Skachkov of Russia in the semifinal clash but was defeated 9-11, 8-11, 6-11, ultimately settling for bronze.
